1. Definition of analytical text

    Analytical exposition text is a logical argument from the author regarding an

    issue that needs attention. 

2. Generic structure

    a) Thesis: introduces the topic and shows the author’s point of view.

    b) Arguments: describes arguments to support the author position. The 

                            number of arguments may vary. But each argument must

                            provide edvidence and reason.                    

    c) Reiteration: restates the author’s point of view/to reinforce the thesis.

    d) Conclusion: to make it easier for readers to understand the content of the

                            opinion you are writing.

3. Purpose

    - To convince the reader that the topics presented was an important topic to be

      discussed or gained attention by way of providing arguments or opinons

      that support the main idea or topic.  

4. Language features

    - Focus on generic human and non-human participants

    - Use mental processes. It is used to state what the writer or speaker thinks or 

      feels about something. For example: realize, feel, etc.

    - Use material processes. It is used to state what happens. For example:

       pollute, grab, write, etc.

    - Use of simple present tense.

        Subject + is/am/are _ noun/adjective/adverb

        Subject + verb 1 +s/es +object + adverb

    - Use of relational processes. That act of being, having, or becoming. For

       example: is, has/have, become. 

    - Use of internal conjunction to state argument. For example: in addition,

       moreover, then, alternatively, at first, finally.  

    - Reasoning through casual conjunction or nominalization. For example: 

        a. Casual conjuction: because, because of, since, for. 

        b. Nominalization (the noun forms of verb): the rapid increase in crime was

            causing concern among the police.

The popularity of mobile devices has had some dangerous consequences. We

know that mobile communications are linked to a significant increase in

distracted driving which results in injury and loss of life.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that in 2010 driver 

distraction was the cause of 18 percent of all fatal crashes – with 3,092 people 

killed – and crashes resulting in an injury – with 416,000 people wounded. 

The Virginia Tech Transportation Institute found that text messaging creates a

crash risk 23 times, worse than driving while not distraced. Eleven percent of

drivers aged 18 to 20 whowere inloved in an automoblie accident and survived

admitted they were sending or receiving text when they crashed.

Distracted driving endangers life and property and the current levels of injury and

loss are unacceptable.

6. Writting the Analytical Text 

What Music Mean to You?

Music is one of the things that many people in the world love. Today, music is
increasingly globalized and can be listened to through various music streaming
platforms. Along with the times, music has also developed. Collaborations

between one type of music and another are now being done by many writers

and singers.

From the survey that has been conducted, the average answer from respondents
said that music is a mood booster for them. Even in one week they can listen to
music every day. They also think that music can change one's mood. What was
originally sad becomes happy, or vice versa.

Of the many genres of music, Pop is a favorite genre that many people love.

Only a handful of people like other music genres such as Rock, R&B, Classical,

and others. Of the many singers in the world, Tulus is the most liked singer.

This is evidenced by the answers from respondents who wrote that Tulus is their

favorite singer.

The types of music that are collaborated are now increasingly diverse. Not only

modern music can be collaborated, but there is also many traditional music

arranged with modern music. Likewise with modern music which currently

also uses many traditional music arrangements.

In this modern era, coupled with the use of increasingly advanced gadgets, music
can be listened to wherever and whenever you want. Even in one application,
sometimes they provide a "listen offline" or "download" feature to make it
easier for application users when listening to music.
